A Tribute to M A Samad Chowdhury


 


The legacy of late MA Samad Chowdhury continues to inspire many even after his death. As a retired employee of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, he dedicated his life to serving his country with integrity and honor. He was known for his honesty, responsibility, and generosity, both in his personal and professional life. As an educator, he also championed the cause of minority groups and the underprivileged.


Following in his father's footsteps, Misbah Chowdhury established the MA Samad Chowdhury Foundation to serve humanity, with a focus on providing support to poor but deserving students. The foundation's guiding principle is "We are for those who possess indomitable wisdom," and It is committed to promoting quality education, ethics, tolerance, and progressive thinking.


Since its establishment in 2018,the foundation has provided scholarships to five poor students for their outstanding results in SSC and HSC examinations. They have also supported the education of over 130 students at Usha School by providing uniforms, mid-day meals, and teacher salaries. The foundation has also donated an enriched library to Sishu Shodon Anathalaya and provided educational materials for an entire year to schools in Kamalganj and Rakhal Gui, among others. The Foundation has even established the M A Samad Chowdhury Girls Academy Dedicated solely to the education of girls.


During the devastating floods of 2022, the foundation provided relief worth an estimated 5,00,000 BDT to affected areas and is working to establish new homes for those who lost their homes. It has plans to build a permanent structure for Usha School.


The foundation has garnered support from various organizations and high-ranking officials, including the Speaker of London Tower Hamlet, the police, and respected citizens. The foundation's ultimate goal is to help educate and empower the underprivileged, and it is working with the cooperation of the Bangladesh government to achieve this objective.


M A Samad Chowdhury's legacy of service and compassion lives on through his foundation. It is a testament to his unwavering commitment to making the world a better place, one person at a time.
