I am delighted to be part of today's award ceremony and recognizing the achievements of young people from the tea estates delivered by the M A Samad Chowdhury Foundation.

Many of you will be aware of the campaign London Tea Exchange has been working on for the past two decades to help tea workers to receive fair pay. We are proud to join forces with the MA Samad Chowdhury Foundation in delivering projects that benefit children from the tea estates.

I want to congratulate all the staff, volunteers and management of the M A Samad Chowdhury Foundation for the dedication and effort they have put in over the past year.

As Nelson Mandela once said - "As long as poverty, injustice and gross inequality exist in our world, none of us can truly rest"

It's up to our generation who have a voice to raise the plight of the voiceless. I hope you can all join us in our campaign for Fair Pay and to build a more fairer society globally !!

Foundation Focuses on Child Education

Education is irreplaceable in the development of the human mind, and creating a favorable environment with adequate facilities is crucial for providing it. The M A Samad Chowdhury Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life in society's underprivileged communities through a variety of initiatives. These include providing medical treatment to the helpless, organizing free blood donation camps in various schools, constructing schools, distributing educational materials, establishing libraries, distributing food and clothing, and building residences in affected areas. These selfless acts aim to uplift neglected individuals and improve their circumstances. The foundation works in multiple ways to promote the health and well-being of underprivileged children and aims to expand its activities gradually. The MA Samad Chowdhury Foundation instills hope in underprivileged children and endeavors to shine a new light on their lives. The support of various individua ls and organizations, including Bangladesh Police officers, administration officials, and Boosters members, has been indispensab le in carrying out these projects. With everyone's assistance, the foundation's work for deprived communities will continue to thrive in the future.

The legacy of late M A Samad Chowdhury continues to inspire many even after his death. As a retired employee of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, he dedicated his life to serving his country with integrity and honor. He was known for his honesty, responsibility, and generosity, both in his personal and professional life. As an educator, he also championed the cause of minority groups and the underprivileged. Following in his father's footsteps, Misbah Chowdhury established the M A Samad Chowdhury Foundation to serve humanity, with a focus on providing support to poor but deserving students. The foundation's guiding principle is "We are for those who possess indomitable wisdom," and It is committed to promoting quality education, ethics, tolerance, and progressive thinking. Since its establishment in 2018,the foundation has provided scholarships to five poor students for their outstanding results in SSC and HSC examinations. They have also supported the education of over 130 students at Usha School by providing uniforms, mid-day meals, and teacher salaries. The foundation has also donated an enriched library to Sishu Shodon Anathalaya and provided educational materials for an entire year to schools in Kamalganj and Rakhal Gui, among others. The Foundation has even established the M A Samad Chowdhury Girls Academy Dedicated solely to the education of girls. During the devastating floods of 2022, the foundation provided relief worth an estimated 5,00,000 BDT to affected areas and is working to establish new homes for those who lost their homes. It has plans to build a permanent structure for Usha School. The foundation has garnered support from various organizations and high-ranking officials, including the Speaker of London Tower Hamlet, the police, and respected citizens. The foundation's ultimate goal is to help educate and empower the underprivileged, and it is working with the cooperation of the Bangladesh government to achieve this objective. M A Samad Chowdhury's legacy of service and compassion lives on through his foundation. It is a testament to his unwavering commitment to making the world a better place, one person at a time.
